대통령 직속 이석수(53·사법연수원 18기) 특별감찰관이 우병우(49·19기) 청와대 민정수석에 대한 감찰조사에 착수.
특별감찰관제도가 도입되고 특별감찰이 실시되는 것은 우 수석이 처음.
이석수 특별감찰관은 박근혜 대통령에게 우 수석에 대한 감찰 개시를 보고.
특별감찰관은 청와대 수석이나 대통령의 4촌 이내 친·인척 비위가 있을 때 이를 감찰하는 기관으로 2014년 도입.
특별감찰관은 대통령 소속으로 하되, 감찰의 시작과 종료만 대통령에게 보고할 뿐 감찰은 독립적으로 이뤄진다.
감찰 기간은 감찰 착수후 1개월 이내다. 감찰 기간이 더 필요한 경우 대통령 허가를 받아 1개월 단위로 연장할 수 있다.
